The Green Me Film Festival has offered a platform since 2008 for green films, green publicity and green economy. Movies with environmentally related topics from all over the world are evaluated and screened at the festival. The festival has annually honored filmmakers with the Green Me Award, which comes with prize money in various categories. This 2016, the festival has honored filmmakers in three different countries with the Green Me Award, in the following categories: Ocean/Life/Water. The festival intends to honour filmmakers in the same categories in the upcoming Green Me Festival Los Angeles, USA.
All genres are allowed in the Green Me Award competition, with an emphasis on ecological issues, especially on the topics: Ocean/Life/Water. With a length of at least 45 minutes, meant for a theater or for festival evaluation. The award winner will be selected by a jury from amongst the films selected to screen at the Festival.
The films have to be sent by post, in a Blue Ray or DCP format to the Festival Office, before the 30th of September 2016, with the filled out registration form. The form could be found on the Green Me website – www.greenme.de. For the pre-selection, a preview DVD or a download link must be sent to the Green Me festival office’s postal address. This DVD will be kept in the Green Me Festival Library and will not be sent back. By filling out the Application form, you agree to have your Film screened at the Film Festival and if you are the winner, to be used three times after the festival without a fee.
An independent expert jury chosen by the festival director will select the winning film. The Festival director chooses annually a new jury for each festival.
